Job summary

RPMGlobal is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and test GUI applications using OpenGL, C/C++, and Visual Studio for real-time visualization and system control. You will integrate software with external RF systems and hardware, collaborating across systems, RF, test, and hardware teams to deliver high-performance DoD solutions.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field with at least 5 years of experience.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• 3–8+ years of experience in software development with strong proficiency in C/C++.
• Experience designing and implementing OpenGL-based GUIs.
• Experience with OpenGL Shading Language (GLSL), DirectX, or modern rendering pipelines.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Visual Studio.
• Experience integrating software with RF systems, radios, or external hardware interfaces.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, HP-IB/GPIB, USB, serial, SCPI or custom hardware interfaces.
• Proficiency with Git for version control.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement GUI applications using OpenGL, C/C++, and Visual Studio for real-time visualization and system control.
• Develop, integrate, and validate software interfaces with external RF systems, radios, and hardware via standard protocols.
• Implement data visualization, signal monitoring, and control modules aligned with system requirements.
• Collaborate with systems, RF, test, and hardware engineers to define communication protocols.
• Optimize GUI performance for real-time responsiveness, rendering efficiency, and reliability.
• Develop and maintain software documentation, including design specs and test procedures.
• Participate in code reviews, system integration events, and configuration management.
• Troubleshoot defects, interface issues, and performance bottlenecks.

Salary Range: $103,000 - $135,200

DCS is seeking a talented C++ Software Engineer to support advanced aerospace and defense programs at Naval Base Ventura County, Point Mugu, California. In this role, you will design, develop, and enhance software applications that provide real-time graphical visualization, system monitoring, and control capabilities for specialized defense systems. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in C++ software development, experience in developing graphical user interfaces (GUIs), and a background in aerospace or other mission critical software applications. We are looking for a capable software engineer who can apply their existing expertise while expanding their technical knowledge in RF systems integration and communications hardware.

Essential Job Functions:

Design, develop, test, and maintain C++ software applications supporting aerospace and defense systems.

Develop and enhance GUIs for real-time visualization, monitoring, and system control.

Utilize OpenGL and related graphics technologies to create responsive, high-performance software applications.

Integrate software applications with external hardware, instrumentation, and system interfaces.

Collaborate with software, systems, hardware, and test engineers to develop and implement software solutions.

Troubleshoot software defects, optimize application performance, and support system integration and testing.

Participate in code reviews, software configuration management, and technical design discussions.

Support laboratory testing, system demonstrations, and engineering reviews.

Develop and maintain technical documentation supporting software design, testing, and integration.
