Your role in the mission:
Type One Energy is seeking a Real‑Time Engineer to support the development, deployment, and operation of our Plasma Control System (PCS). This role is responsible for implementing real‑time control functionality that directly enables high performance, high‑availability operation of the plasma at the core of our stellarator fusion power plant.
The successful candidate will work closely with the PCS lead scientist and CODAC (Control, Data Access, and Communication) engineers to design, implement, test, and maintain real‑time control software and supporting hardware infrastructure. This position plays a critical role in ensuring reliable and high‑performance plasma operation.
Type One Energy applies proven advanced manufacturing methods, modern computational physics and high‑field superconducting magnets to develop its optimized stellarator fusion energy system. Our FusionDirect development program pursues the lowest‑risk, shortest‑schedule path to a fusion power plant over the coming decade, using a partner‑intensive and capital‑efficient strategy.
