Job summary

Boom Supersonic is seeking an embedded real-time software engineer to develop flight-critical software powering the Symphony engine and interfaces with sensors, actuators, and flight systems.

You will work with propulsion, test, and avionics teams, coding in Rust/C++ on Linux/RTOS, and contribute to software architecture as programs grow, including real-time and safety-critical considerations.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded jet engine control software affecting engine operation and subsystems.
• Define, refine, and validate embedded system requirements with propulsion, test, and avionics engineers.
• Build and test software for real-time execution on safety-critical targets, including HIL systems.
• Establish software engineering practices: version control, unit tests, and automated testing/deployment for embedded systems.
• Own the full lifecycle of your code—from prototype to flight-ready.
