TP-Link Systems Inc. in Irvine, CA is seeking a skilled Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimize consumer networking products. In this hands‑on role, you will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to bring features from concept to completion, ensuring high standards of performance, reliability, and safety.

You will be involved in every stage of the development process, from chipset bring-up and SDK integration to new feature development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in CS/CE/EE or equivalent.
• 3+ years experience in embedded software development.
• Strong C/C++ programming and debugging skills.
• Familiarity with RTOS or Linux in embedded environments.
• Knowledge of DHCP, IPv4/IPv6 networking.
• Experience with microcontrollers and hardware interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO).
• Experience with debugging tools such as GDB and Wireshark.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product management for technical research and feasibility assessments.
• Design and develop embedded networking products across hardware platforms.
• Partner with hardware teams to implement hardware-dependent functions.
• Develop new features for real-time embedded systems using C/C++.
• Create technical documentation including design specs and architecture.
• Conduct code reviews to uphold coding standards.
• Perform unit, integration, and system testing with QA.
• Manage firmware releases with changelogs and manuals.
• Ensure product readiness for production with manufacturing tooling and certifications.
• Investigate customer-reported issues and deploy firmware updates.
• Mentor junior engineers in coding and debugging.
• Stay informed on industry trends to maintain competitive edge.
