Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Data Engineer Software Developer within the Global Automations & Intelligent Network Solutions (GAINS) team to advance Real-Time Visibility (RTV) capabilities on the DISN network.

The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and platforms using Elastic Stack, Kafka, AWS, and OpenShift, with an emphasis on data quality, security, and performance for mission-critical operations at Scott AFB.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field with 4+ years of experience.
• Hands-on in building and maintaining data pipelines (ETL/ELT) across disparate sources.
• Experience with Elastic Stack and Kafka-based data ingestion and processing.
• Proficient in Linux/UNIX administration, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of DoD/DISA security frameworks and security clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Designs and maintains scalable data systems and pipelines for analytics.
• Integrates data from multiple network ops systems into a unified platform.
• Builds data warehouses/data lakes and optimizes for performance and cost.
• Automates ETL/ELT processes and supports CI/CD for build/test/deploy.
• Collaborates with analysts and UI/UX teams to deliver integrated data solutions.
• Troubleshoots ingestion, processing, and platform performance issues.
