Job summary

Vanderbilt University Public Safety (VUPS) is seeking a dedicated SOC professional to monitor campus surveillance, access control, and ALPR/LPR alerts from the SOC, coordinating with field units in real time.

You will operate UAS for aerial surveillance, manage digital evidence, and support emergency communications, ensuring CJIS compliance and timely incident response across 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is required or must be obtained within six months.
• An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Intelligence Studies, IT, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor live video feeds, alarms, access control, and LPR/ALPR across campus and surrounding areas.
• Conduct forensic video retrieval and preserve digital evidence per policy and chain of custody.
• Operate UAS flights for aerial surveillance, event monitoring, and emergency response.
• Monitor radio traffic and relay intelligence to field units and Dispatch.
• Disseminate emergency notifications and coordinate with leadership during incidents.
• Perform crime analysis using CAD, RMS, LPR, and OSINT; produce summaries and briefings.
• Maintain SOC technology platforms and coordinate repairs.
• Support events with real-time monitoring and communications coordination.
• Assist in developing SOPs, guides, and training materials; onboard SOC personnel.
• Maintain detailed logs and documentation in records systems.
• Enter/update NCIC records and ensure CJIS compliance.
• Conduct virtual patrols and adjust monitoring priorities.
• Ensure 24/7 SOC coverage and readiness for incidents.
