Huxley in New York seeks a senior backend engineer to design and build low-latency, high-throughput systems in Java, with emphasis on event-driven architectures using Kafka. You will develop real-time data pipelines and microservices that scale across multiple regions.

Candidates should have strong expertise in Kafka ecosystem, Redis caching, AWS cloud services, and Kubernetes, plus experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and observability to ensure production-grade reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience designing low-latency, high-throughput backend systems in Java.
• Strong knowledge of event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar messaging tech.
• Deep understanding of real-time stream processing concepts and delivery semantics.
• Proven work with Kafka ecosystem, including Streams and scalable pipelines.
• Experience designing distributed systems and microservices with performance tuning and caching (Redis).
• Proficiency in Java and Python with cloud-native architecture experience (AWS, Kubernetes).
• Exposure to AI/ML-driven applications and automated testing strategies.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, observability, DevSecOps practices, and data-driven metrics.
