Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 1 year of experience in measuring/listing structures or data collection for appraisals.
• Valid NC or SC driver's license.
• NC Dept of Revenue certification as County Real Property Appraiser within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collect and compile real estate data to facilitate accurate valuations.
• Identify and organize information regarding real property sales to build a confirmed sales database for real estate evaluation.
• Process parcel splits and combinations.
• Assist the public and County agencies by providing and interpreting real estate information.
• Identify and update parcels for zoning changes.
• Provide technical support regarding valuation results, protests or appeal procedures.
• Investigate and process building permits to implement property value change.
• With direct supervision, review property valuation appeals, prepare written documentation for valuation defense, including investigation and formal response to protests, appeals and complaints, and testify in court as required.
