The Oregon Department of Transportation’s DMV Beaverton office is seeking a Transportation Services Representative 1 to serve as Real ID Specialist on a limited-duration basis.

You will assist the public with Real ID transactions, produce licenses and IDs, and explain related rules with a focus on accuracy and privacy compliance. Travel to other regional offices may be required.

Qualifications

  • Two years of public contact/customer service experience which involved dealing with the public in person or by phone providing information about services/programs or explaining and/or applying rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Experience or training using computers to retrieve and input data.
  • Three months experience collecting money and making change.
  • Completion of an associate’s degree will substitute for one year of the public contact experience.

**Transportation Services Representative 1 – Real ID Specialist (Limited Duration)** **Oregon Department of Transportation** **Driver and Motor Vehicles Division (DMV)** **Field Services Group / Sunset Region** **Beaverton****The role:**Bring your customer service skills to the Beaverton DMV as a Real ID Specialist. In this role, you will assist the public with obtaining Real ID compliant identification cards, answering questions related to Real ID and providing customer service for Oregonian’s looking to obtain documents that comply with the Real ID Act.**This is a limited duration appointment that is expected to end on or before June 30, 2027. Limited duration appointments are benefits eligible and have a designated maximum length of service. Conduct vision tests.* Explain state and federal requirements for different driver and identification transactions.* Provide exceptional customer service while following privacy laws.* Communicate clearly with customers from diverse backgrounds to accurately answer complex questions.* Collaborate with office leaders and managers to ensure efficient operations related to issuing Real ID.* Examine documents for eligibility prior to issuing credentials.* Prepare daily reports and balance transactions at the end of each day.* Travel to other offices in the region to perform relief work.* Work is performed in a DMV office setting with extensive face to face interaction with the public.* Must be able to type at least 30 words per minute with a high level of accuracy.
