Job summary

The Durst Organization seeks an Associate Corporate Counsel who will manage legal affairs, facilitating Commercial Leasing matters. This role requires working closely with the Legal Department and outside counsel while ensuring adherence to corporate governance and legal compliance.

Ideal candidates will have 3-5 years in transactional NYC real estate law, excellent drafting skills, and the ability to multitask. The salary range is $200,000 – $225,000 annually.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience with transactional NYC real estate law at a law firm, in-house, or a combination thereof.
• Demonstrated experience with commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and/or financing.
• Ability to work well independently and in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate small commercial leases, retail leases, license agreements, and notices of default.
• Advise internal teams on lease interpretation and dispute resolution.
• Support the Senior Vice President & General Counsel on special projects.
