Alter Domus, a world-leading provider of integrated solutions for the alternative investment industry, is seeking an Assistant Fund Manager for our Real Estate Fund Administration team in Chicago. You will supervise a team, interact with clients and property managers, and prepare comprehensive financial reports.

The role emphasizes leadership, accuracy, and collaborative problem-solving within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Minimum of 3 years of real estate accounting and analysis experience.
• Big 4 experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Deadline-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor, and train a team of Associate and Fund Accountants.
• Develop leadership skills by leading projects and offering input.
• Respond to auditor queries.
• Communicate with property manager(s) and client(s).
• Prepare, review, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Calculate and review performance returns and compare to benchmarks.
• Review budgets and assist with annual fund/business plans.
• Determine cash distributions aligned with property objectives and plans.
• Prepare and interpret accounting records and financial reports for accuracy.
