Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Real Estate Litigation Attorney to join the New York office of Fox Rothschild.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience (six to nine years), a strong background in real estate litigation, with a focus on advising and representing cooperative and condominium boards and their managing agents. We are not currently accepting resumes from search firms for this position at this time.

Qualifications: Juris Doctorate (JD) required. Must be licensed to practice law in the State of New York.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Strong research, writing skills, and academic record.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic real estate litigation team.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience advising and representing cooperative and condominium boards and their managing agents in litigation and disputes, including common charge lien foreclosures and disputes among shareholders, unit owners, and other parties.
  • Handle commercial mortgage and UCC foreclosures and other complex commercial real estate matters on behalf of lenders and property owners.
  • Prosecute and defend cases through all stages of litigation in state and federal courts.
  • Represent clients in arbitration and mediation proceedings before forums such as the American Arbitration Association and JAMS.
  • Minimize client risk, set clear expectations, and develop practical strategies and creative solutions to achieve client objectives.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment including, but not limited to computers, telephones, printers, and copiers.

Physical Requirements

  • Sedentary work: Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.
  • The salary range for this position applies to New York. The salary range reflects a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a position. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $245,000 - 270,000.
