Job summary

MSA Professional Services, Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking a Real Estate Appraiser to support public improvement projects, primarily transportation-related. Newly licensed appraisers are encouraged to apply and will gain independence while expanding into right of way and eminent domain work.

You'll work with experienced real estate professionals, perform inspections, prepare valuation reports, and learn WisDOT appraisal processes as you progress to more complex assignments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Active Wisconsin Certified Residential or Certified General Appraisal license required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare appraisals and valuation reports supporting real estate acquisitions for local public agency and WisDOT improvement projects.
• Research comparable property sales and complete Sales Studies to establish unit values for various property types.
• Complete property and acquisition-area inspections to evaluate potential impacts of proposed improvements.
• Assist with appraisal reviews and identification of differences between property-owner and acquiring-agency valuations Real Estate Appraiser.
• Assist with acquisition cost estimates and valuation information used for project budgeting.
• Develop knowledge of right of way acquisition, eminent domain principles, Wisconsin Statute 32, and federal acquisition requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, senior appraisers, and real estate professionals to provide valuation information and documentation.
• Communicate professionally with property owners and other stakeholders as needed under the guidance of experienced staff.
