Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Transportation seeks a Real Estate Appraisal Reviewer to analyze real estate appraisals and provide technical guidance for right-of-way projects across a geographic area. You will review machinery and equipment appraisals and help ensure standards are met.

In this full-time role, you’ll maintain records, generate monthly reports, participate in meetings, and handle special assignments.

Qualifications

• One year as a General Real Estate Appraiser or three years of professional real estate appraisal experience for public use.
• Active Pennsylvania Certified General Appraiser certification.
• Active motor vehicle license.
• You must meet the PA residency requirement.

Responsibilities

• Appraisal Review: evaluate real estate appraisals, machinery, and equipment appraisals submitted for right of way use
• Technical Guidance: provide direction to ensure appraisal techniques and requirements are followed
• Damage Evaluation: determine compensable elements related to property values and estimated damages
• Document Tracking: maintain records, generate monthly reports, and support right of way office needs
• Meeting Participation: attend discussions and training sessions related to appraisal practices
• Special Assignments: complete delegated tasks and support additional review activities as needed
