Job summary

Aegon Asset Management is seeking a Research Intern for its Real Assets Client Strategy team in Cedar Rapids. The role is 20 hours per week during the school semester and full-time during the summer of 2027, with hybrid work and in-person collaboration on-site.

You will assist with data collection, organization, and synthesis related to macroeconomy, commercial real estate, and capital markets, gaining hands-on experience alongside analysts.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled full-time at a college or university pursuing a degree related to Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
• Internships are not available for students who have completed their undergraduate college education or who will graduate prior to the conclusion of the internship.
• Strong written & verbal communications skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Demonstrated critical thinking, technical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to deliver accurate, high-quality work.
• Proven time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data visualization).

Responsibilities

• Support market and portfolio research by analyzing data to uncover insights on commercial real estate performance and sector trends.
• Aggregate and summarize economic, real estate, and portfolio-level data into charts, tables, and visuals.
• Assist with preparation of presentations, memos, and client reports.
• Help maintain real estate data files, dashboards, and financial models.
• Attend internal meetings and shadow full-time analysts to gain exposure to the investment research process.
• Assist with portfolio analysis projects, including reviewing property, loan, or fund-level data to support reporting and strategy development.
