Job summary

Western Rock Products, a CRH Company, seeks a Ready Mix Truck Driver to deliver concrete and associated materials in a safe and professional manner. The role covers plant yard, public roads, and multiple job sites, with pre/post-trip inspections and strict adherence to mix specifications.

The ideal candidate will have a HS diploma or GED, 1–2 years of related experience, CDL and DOT medical card, and a proven ability to work well in teams while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Drive ready mix trucks safely in plant yard, on public highways/roads, and at job sites to deliver products.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and verify mix specifications after loading and at site.
  • Unload concrete and operate chutes to deliver product as directed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper operation of equipment and handle routine duties as assigned.

Position Overview

Drives ready mix trucks in a safe and professional manner in the plant yard, on public highways/roads, and at various job sites to deliver products. Deliveries will be made in both commercial and residential areas.

Ready Mix Truck Driver Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Maintains equipment in a safe and clean condition.
  • Performs pre and post-trip truck inspections.
  • Verify general compliance with mix specifications after loading and at job site.
  • Aligns mixer drum under disbursement chute at the plant to receive product into the mixer truck drum.
  • Drives ready mix truck to location for unloading.
  • Operate ready mix truck to release concrete down truck chute into area to be poured with concrete.
  • Cleans truck after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening in mixer and on truck
  • Places and operates chutes to deliver product where directed.
  • Other duties as directed by supervisor.

Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Requirements
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

  • May be subject to drug testing and physical agilities testing.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
  • Must possess a valid state commercial driver's license (CDL) Class A or Class B.
  • Must possess a valid Medical Card as per DOT standard.
