Job summary

CalPortland is seeking a Ready Mix Plant Manager to oversee daily operations of a ready-mix concrete plant within our materials network. You will manage production planning, batching quality, inventory, and equipment reliability while maintaining safety and environmental standards.

You will lead plant staff, coordinate with dispatch, sales, and maintenance teams, and track KPIs to optimize productivity and costs.

Qualifications

  • Concrete or construction materials experience.
  • Supervisor or leadership training.
  • Mechanical or maintenance aptitude.
  • OSHA safety training or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the ready-mix concrete plant
  • Manage production scheduling, batching, and quality control
  • Monitor and maintain raw material and finished product inventory
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
  • Lead, train, and mentor plant staff and production crews
  • Coordinate with dispatch, sales, and maintenance teams to meet customer demand
  • Track and analyze KPIs to improve productivity and control costs
  • Schedule and coordinate maintenance to maximize equipment uptime
  • Implement continuous improvement and 5S/lean practices
