Job summary

Barrett Industries' Upstone Materials, Inc., a Colas USA subsidiary, is seeking a skilled diesel/heavy equipment technician in New York to maintain and repair Ready Mix trucks and other heavy equipment at field and shop locations.

Role requires a valid CDL B, 3–5 years’ experience or a degree in Heavy Equipment, Truck and Diesel Technology. You’ll work in a team, perform on-site repairs, and help keep our hydraulic, electrical, and drive-train systems in optimal condition.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL B license required.
• 3–5 years' experience or a degree in Heavy Equipment, Truck and Diesel Technology.

Responsibilities

• Road tests, inspects and troubleshoots Ready Mix trucks and equipment.
• Repairs and rebuilds hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Adjusts, repairs, brakes, valves, and hydraulic controls; rebuilds drive train components.
• Installs and wires electrical systems and components, including computer-controlled parts.
• Performs on-site field repairs to equipment and supports other technicians as needed.
• Maintains and repairs equipment to support safety and uptime.

Education

CDL B license

Mission

• Maintains and repairs equipment, vehicles, and/or facilities used for carrying out the operations.

Main Responsibilities

• Road tests, inspects and troubleshoots Ready Mix trucks and equipment to assess condition and diagnose repairs
• Repairs and rebuilds hydraulic and pneumatic apparatus
• Adjusts, disassembles, and repairs or rebuilds drum and disc braking systems, valves, master cylinders, and pneumatic or other hydraulic controls
• Fabricates special parts and up fits new equipment
• Adjusts, repairs, replaces and/or rebuilds carburetors and fuel injection systems
• Installs, troubleshoots, adjusts, replaces, repairs, and rewires electrical systems and components, such as ignitions, signals, lights, and electrical controls, including computer-controlled components
• Repairs and replaces suspension and steering components
• Adjusts and/or repairs automatic and manual transmissions, differentials, power-take-off drives, clutches, and related drive train components
• Uses welding and cutting equipment to make repairs or modify equipment
• Performs on-site field repairs to stationary or disabled equipment
• Additional duties as assigned

Education

• Must have a valid CDL B license and a good driving record
• 3-5 years’ experience or degree in Heavy Equipment, Truck and Diesel Technology in lieu of experience is preferred

Compensation

$30.00 - $35.00
