Job summary

Idaho Materials & Construction, a CRH Company, is seeking a Ready-Mix Dispatcher to coordinate concrete deliveries and maximize fleet efficiency at our Idaho operations. You will serve as the communications hub between customers, drivers, plant personnel, and sales to ensure timely, accurate deliveries and adapt to changing job-site needs.

Candidates should have strong organizational and communication skills, with precedence given to those with dispatch/logistics experience in construction

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in dispatching, logistics, or transportation preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills required.
  • Familiarity with delivery areas and scheduling tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily driver assignments to meet delivery goals.
  • Maintain courteous, professional communication with customers and drivers.
  • Support scheduling across plants, routes, and production.
  • Estimate travel times and optimize plant locations to service jobs efficiently.
  • Overtime and varying shifts (early mornings, late afternoons, Saturdays) may be required.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and safety awareness.

Position Overview

The Ready-Mix Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and scheduling ready-mix concrete deliveries to customer job sites while maximizing fleet utilization, maintaining customer service standards, and supporting safe and efficient operations. This position serves as a critical communication link between customers, drivers, plant personnel, sales representatives, and operations management to ensure timely and accurate delivery of concrete products. Also monitors production schedules, delivery routes, and fleet availability while responding to changing job site conditions, customer requests, and operational needs. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Control the number of drivers needed throughout the day and make any necessary adjustments that will maintain the goals set by the company.
  • Have a pleasant and accommodating voice over the phone and always demonstrate a positive attitude.
  • Develop a positive rapport with Drivers and company supervisors.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with delivery areas and must be able to assist drivers in finding jobsites.
  • Must be able to determine travel time to jobs and best plant location to service jobs.
  • Able and willing to work overtime and varying shifts including early mornings, late afternoons, and Saturdays.

Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree GED is preferred.
Work Requirements
  • Prior related experience dispatching, logistics, transportation, customer service, or related experience preferred.

Experience in ready-mix concrete, construction materials, trucking, or construction industries is highly desirable.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately and have knowledge of Database software (Command Alkon); Internet software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Customer service skills are essential.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
