READY Crew Member
Temporary, Full-Time
Reports to: Landscape Foreman
A READY Crew Member will be an essential part of the team in providing environmental services, including the installation and maintenance of landscaping projects such as conservation landscapes and rain gardens, performing maintenance of stream restoration projects, removing debris from waterways, and more.
Crew Members work in teams under the direction of their Crew Leader, Landscape Foreman and Operations Staff. Members will learn how to work as a team to successfully create and manage stormwater practices in the Bay region as well as be exposed to a variety of career opportunities in the environmental and stormwater industries through training and networking opportunities.
Through the READY program, Howard EcoWorks provides training in identifying native and invasive plants, construction techniques for environmental restoration projects, comprehensive tool training, and more. READY participants will also receive soft-skills training such as resume building and interview practice, as well as gaining exposure to different sectors of the environmental industry.

This is a full-time, hourly, seasonal position. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including a half-hour unpaid lunch break and 2 paid 15-minute breaks per day. There are no paid holidays, however July 4th will be observed. Weekend work opportunities may become available but are not mandatory. Work in the field is weather-dependent, which may result in shortened work weeks in the event of extreme weather. Indoor training and professional development opportunities may be offered on bad-weather days, when possible.
