Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Social Worker for Vet Center services. The role delivers readjustment counseling to eligible Veterans, active duty members, and families, using psychosocial assessments and evidence-based interventions.

The incumbent will assess risk, coordinate care with community resources, and develop individualized service plans. Licensure and MSW are required; EDRP eligibility is available. Schedule is typically weekdays with potential non-traditional hours.

Qualifications

• Must have a master’s degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Licensed to independently practice social work in a state.
• GS-11 requires 1 year of MSW-level experience and licensure.
• Knowledge of community resources and ability to coordinate referrals.

Responsibilities

• Provide Vet Center readjustment counseling services to eligible individuals and families.
• Conduct intake screening, assessment, and risk evaluation.
• Develop and periodically update individualized service plans with measurable outcomes.
• Coordinate care with community resources and other providers.
• Document all clinical interactions and care coordination activities.
