Job summary

An innovative charter school in South Chicago is seeking a dedicated 1st-2nd Grade Reading and Writing Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to student achievement and educational equity, particularly for Black and Brown students. Bachelor’s degree is required, and teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Eligibility to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Teaching experience in an urban public school preferred but not required.
• Valid IL Professional Educator License preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver rigorous and engaging lesson plans for students.
• Create a supportive and structured classroom environment.
• Use academic data to inform instruction and drive student growth.
