Ampact is seeking a dedicated Reading Tutor for the Reading Corps program in Ames, Iowa. In this full-time position, you will help students improve their reading skills through one-on-one tutoring. You will track student progress and meet with onsite coaches to ensure effective support. Essential qualifications include being 18 years or older, having a high school diploma, and being a U.S. citizen or resident. Position Summary

Students who read have the power to succeed, and we’re on a mission to make sure every student is a strong reader!

Join Reading Corps as a Reading Tutor and you’ll spend your days at a local school helping students improve their skills. We’ll train you to deliver proven activities and coach you every step of the way!

How does it work? Every school day you’ll see pairs of students for 20 minutes of reading practice. When your time together is up, you’ll help your students return to their classroom(s) and pick up your next pair for tutoring. You’ll repeat until all your students are served.

With the extra attention and support, incredible growth happens. As your students build their skills and confidence, you’ll be there to encourage, celebrate, and cheer them on!

Essential Qualifications

By the time you begin your service with Reading Corps, you should be:

• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
