Job summary

Ampact is hiring for a Teacher in Training position in West Saint Paul for the 2026-27 school year. This full-time AmeriCorps role allows you to support students at a local school while completing your master’s degree in education through the University of Minnesota.

You will lead tutoring sessions to help students improve their reading skills and commit to personal growth through coaching. Enjoy daytime hours and weekends off while making a difference in the community.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in the University of Minnesota Grow Your Own Teacher Program.
• Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback.
• At least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Support students in improving their reading skills.
• Lead tutoring sessions and track student progress.
• Conduct skill assessments and meet with coaches.

Skills

Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing

Proficient in basic computer skills

Dependable with good attendance

Education

Bachelor's degree
