Job summary

Prep Academy Tutors is seeking an energetic reading tutor to support San Diego area students in home and online sessions. You will deliver targeted reading intervention aligned with the California state curriculum and build customized lesson plans.

You will provide supplemental assignments, remedial and enrichment activities, and frequent updates to parents or guardians about progress. The role values flexible hours, professional development, and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required and California teaching certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience with reading intervention programs (e.g., Wilson Reading, UFLI, Barton) is desirable.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.

Requirements

A qualified applicant will have a bachelor’s degree and will also meet at least one of the following criteria:

• You hold a valid California State teaching certificate or the equivalent thereof
• You are a current student teacher pursuing a teaching certificate
• You have experience with reading intervention programs such as Wilson Reading, UFLI, Barton, etc.
