Summary/Objective

East Shore Leadership Academy must provide an excellent education to all our students consistent with the mission, vision, and goals of the school and with the core values of Summit Management Consulting. Your primary goal is to support our students in the area of reading.

Essential Functions

1. Works with students, individually or in small groups, to teach/reinforce reading and/or
mathematical learning concepts.
2. Uses data to provide instruction to students and to bring their skills to grade-level.
3. Collaborates with teachers, administration, and families to help identify best practices for
individual and small groups of students.
4. Uses identified research-based interventions that focus specifically on individual student needs.
5. Maintains data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and
progress.
6. Provides input for program development.
7. Communicates with classroom teachers for areas of reading/mathematics focus.
8. Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and
success.

You are directly accountable to the Special Education Supervisor. As a member of the East Shore Leadership Academy team, you are also expected to communicate and coordinate with the school office personnel and collaborate with your fellow teachers. As an East Shore Leadership Academy employee, you will be expected to:

  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner – demonstrating competence in your area of responsibilities and extending respect and courtesy to coworkers. This position is one that demands an exceptional attendance routine, including consistently arriving early to set the tone for the day along with staying after to plan or support students.
  • Adhere to all East Shore Leadership Academy employee policies as well as expectations as outlined in the handbooks. We will supply a hard copy to you upon request.

Evaluation

All employees are evaluated based on the performance of their primary responsibilities and their adherence to the general expectations outlined in the job descriptions. It is also expected that each employee does their part to maintain a spirit of team unity and cooperation. Each employee can expect to be observed and provided with immediate feedback frequently throughout the schoolyear with a year-end evaluation.

This job operates in a professional home office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Schedule

This role requires work between 8am and 4pm, Monday through Friday and additional hours as needed. This is a full time, hourly position that requires 40. This is a remote position, but the hours are not flexible. All staff must attend in-person state assessment administration, as well as in-person Graduation and Professional Development.

Required Education and Experience

PREFERRED: 3+ years’ experience working in an office setting.

Minimum of Associate degree in Office Systems, Administrative Assistant, or other relevant degree
