Job description

Charter One works with schools across the country to provide all-inclusive education management services. We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly.

American Leadership Academy - Johnston is accepting applications for a Reading Interventionist for the 2025-2026 school year. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting assessments to identify students’ reading levels and specific areas of difficulty, using both formal and informal assessment tools.
  • Developing tailored intervention plans based on assessment data to address individual students' needs. This might involve creating specialized lesson plans, selecting appropriate reading materials, and utilizing evidence-based instructional strategies.
  • Delivering one-on-one or small group instruction to students, focusing on targeted reading skills such as phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
  • Regularly evaluating and tracking students' progress to determine the effectiveness of interventions and making necessary adjustments to instruction.
  • Working closely with classroom teachers to integrate reading interventions into the broader curriculum and to ensure consistency in instruction and support.
  • Communicating with parents and guardians to discuss students' progress, provide strategies for supporting reading at home, and involve them in the intervention process.
  • Participating in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in reading instruction and intervention.
  • Keeping detailed records of student progress, intervention strategies, and outcomes, and preparing reports for school administration, parents, and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
