Job summary

ESS in Horsham, PA is seeking a Reading Interventionalist to support K-12 students with targeted literacy instruction in a school setting. This permanent, part-time role features Monday–Friday 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with a $19 per hour wage and weekly pay.

You will implement evidence-based strategies, monitor progress, and collaborate with Literacy Specialist and teachers. A high school diploma and relevant clearances are required to qualify.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED and two years post-secondary education.
  • PA Department of Education Form 6004: Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification – Act 24.
  • PA State Police Criminal History Clearance – Act 34.
  • Federal Criminal History Clearance – Act 114.
  • Child Abuse Clearance – Act 151.
  • Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release – Act 168.
  • Tuberculosis Test/Physical.

Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted reading intervention to small groups of students identified as needing additional literacy support.
  • Deliver daily reading instruction using lessons and instructional materials provided by the Literacy Specialist.
  • Implement evidence-based literacy strategies with fidelity to support student growth in foundational reading skills, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of intervention sessions and student performance.
  • Collaborate regularly with the Literacy Specialist and classroom teachers to discuss student progress and instructional needs.
  • Foster a positive, supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and confidence in reading.
  • Adapt instruction, as appropriate, to meet the individual learning needs of students while maintaining the integrity of the intervention program.
  • Communicate student progress and concerns to the Literacy Specialist and school administration as needed.
  • Participate in professional development and staff meetings related to literacy instruction and intervention.
  • Perform other duties related to the reading intervention program as assigned by the Principal or Literacy Specialist.
