Job summary

Catapult Learning is seeking a Math Tutor to work on-site at Martha Gaskins Elementary School in Birmingham, AL. This part-time position runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30-3:00pm, providing contracted instructional services in reading, mathematics, and writing to students.

Be an advocate, mentor, and guide for students with our proven curriculum and ongoing support to help each child grow and shine. A Alabama Professional Educator License and FBI/BCI background check are required;

Qualifications

• Licensed teachers with Alabama Professional Educator License.
• FBI/BCI background check required.
• Teaching experience preferred.
• Belief that all children can learn.
• Ability to navigate online platforms for record keeping and communication.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose learning skill deficits and deliver prescribed instructional methods as determined by Catapult Learning.
• Consult with school personnel to coordinate services for students.
• Communicate student progress with parents and conferences.
• Deliver prescribed instructional models in reading, mathematics, and/or writing.
• Attend training and implement instructional strategies.
• Develop and maintain individualized lesson plans.
• Supervise students during sessions and ensure safety.
• Maintain student forms and files as required by authorities.
• Attend and document meetings with Supervisors, teachers, principals, and parents.
• Maintain inventory of educational materials.

How you’ll be there for students:

Tutors will provide contracted instructional services with the necessary educational expertise in reading, mathematics, and writing for students.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose learning skill deficits and delivers prescribed instructional delivery methods as determined by the Company
• Consult with school personnel to coordinate efforts in providing services to students
• Communicate and conference with parents providing information on student progress
• Deliver prescribed instructional delivery methods as determined by the Company
• Attend training sessions and deliver designated instructional models and strategies in readiness, reading, mathematics, and/or writing skills to students through the utilization of Company-designed materials and educational strategies.
• Develop and maintain individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans.
• Ensure supervision of students, including escorting students safely to and from sessions.
• Establish and maintain student forms and files as required by the Company, local, state, and/or federal agencies.
• Attend and document meetings/training with Company Supervisors, classroom teachers, principals, and parents as required by the Company, local, state, and/or federal agencies.
• Maintain inventory of educational materials and supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Licensed tutors: teachers with proper Professional Educator License credentials recognized by the State of Alabama as Properly Licensed Teacher.
• Tutors must complete an FBI/BCI background check.
• Teaching experience preferred.

• Ability to navigate online platforms for record keeping and communication.
