Job summary

Nano-C Inc. is seeking a Reactor Technician to play a hands-on role in manufacturing advanced carbon‑based nanomaterials, including nanotubes and fullerenes.

The technician operates combustion reactors and high‑temperature equipment, assembling, maintaining and repairing reactor systems in accordance with SOPs to ensure precision and consistency. The role involves reactor start‑up preparation, operating reactors per defined parameters, participating in SOP preparation, calibrating gas flows via

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of manufacturing or operational experience
  • Strong mechanical background
  • Experience with gaseous, liquid and solid chemicals
  • Experience with carbon nanotubes or other carbon‑based materials is advantageous
  • Good understanding of computer‑based control systems

Responsibilities

  • Prepare reactors for start‑up and operate reactors based on defined process parameters
  • Maintain and repair reactor systems and auxiliary equipment
  • Calibrate gas flows regularly and set operating conditions via computer interfaces
  • Assist in the preparation and adaptation of SOPs
  • Support quality control, product collection and shipment
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas and process equipment in line with SOPs

Salary range $72K to $87K, commensurate with experience

Join Nano-C as a Reactor Technician and play a hands‑on role in the production of cutting‑edge carbon‑based nanomaterials! The Reactor Technician operates combustion reactors and high‑temperature equipment in the manufacturing of nanotubes and fullerenes, and is actively involved in the assembly, maintenance, and repair of reactor systems. The Reactor Technician carries out all operations in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), contributing to the precision and consistency that defines Nano‑C's work.

Reactor Technician Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree in mechanical, chemical engineering or equivalent
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in manufacturing or operational setting highly desired
  • Strong mechanical background
  • Experience working with gaseous, liquid and solid chemicals is required; experience with carbon nanotubes or other carbon‑based materials is advantageous
  • Good understanding of computer‑based control systems
