Job summary

Liberty Hardware is hiring a Reach Truck Operator to safely operate a powered industrial truck at elevated heights, lifting, stacking and moving products. Starting rate is $19.75/hour with a $1.00 shift premium, totaling $20.75/hour, for a Friday–Sunday shift from 6:00am to 6:30pm.

Employees working all 36 scheduled hours are paid for 40 hours. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and certified equipment operation with RF/WMS experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
• Certified powered industrial equipment operator with RF and WMS experience preferred.
• Must complete powered industrial equipment training and maintain license.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a reach truck to lift, stack, move, and store products or materials.
• Follow safe operating procedures and maintain equipment license.
• Batteries plugged in to recharge during breaks, lunches, and end of shift.
• Scan bar codes, locate and replenish cartons and pallets, and work cross-functionally as needed.
• Train new staff and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Summary:
Responsible for safely operating a powered industrial truck at elevated heights to lift, stack, move, and store products, equipment, or materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all safe operating procedures related to being a licensed powered industrial truck operator.
• Safely operate levers and pedals to drive reach truck and control movement of lifting apparatus and load.
• Ensure equipment batteries are plugged in to recharge at breaks, lunches, and end of shift.
• Scan bar code labels; locate, pull, consolidate, move, and replenish cartons and pallets.
• Work cross-functionally in other departments as needed, including but not limited to, working as a Material Handler I and/or Material Handler II.
• Demonstrate safe working practices in all facets of work.
• Train new or less experienced staff members as needed.
• Exhibit a Continuous Improvement mindset by participating in events and activities that lead to financial gain, time savings, and/or waste reduction for the company.
• Perform any other duties needed to help achieve our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Values.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience as a certified powered industrial equipment operator and experience with RF and WMS technology preferred.
• Must be able to satisfactorily complete powered industrial equipment training and maintain equipment license.

Physical Demands:

• Frequently walk and stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
• Grip battery plug-in connections multiple times per shift to recharge equipment batteries.
• Frequently grab, lift, carry, stack, and/or move materials and products weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Occasionally climb up to two flights of 10-inch stairs.
• Operate wrapping machine, pneumatic and banding equipment, and RF scanner.
• Meet specific vision requirements, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must pass a vision test.

Work Environment:

• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Occasionally exposed to extreme cold and/or extreme heat.
