Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking a dedicated warehouse team member to manage freight from the Receiving dock and replenish slots to maintain smooth store operations. You will use RF/PDA devices, perform daily PIT checks, and help keep the warehouse organized and safe.

Heavy lifting, walking, and standing are required in a climate-controlled DC with overtime and weekend duties. Qualifications include 1 year of forklift experience, strong safety and quality focus, and good communication.

General Summary:
Puts away or removes freight from the Receiving dock and replenishes the Bulk and Repack pick slots and reserve slots in order to maintain a consistent workflow and services the store in a safe, timely and cost effective manner using Radio Frequency (RF) devices or Personal Data Assistant (PDA) units as applicable.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Complete the daily PIT checklist to ensure equipment is working properly and report any defects to management and/or maintenance.
• Operate Equipment in a safe manner.
• Achieve set standards (engineered or productivity) on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Transport labeled freight from the dock to its assigned place for storage or shipment and complete the Daily Activity Log to track individual productivity.
• Replenish locations with correct freight that is free of damage to maintain quality standards.
• Assist in maintaining the workflow by removing empty pallets from pallet return slots as needed to adhere to housekeeping and safety standards.
• Ensure all freight staged on the floor is placed in the correct slot location to ensure slots are replenished with adequate merchandise.
• Report all discrepancies concerning merchandise in the wrong slot, slot overflow, license number not on file, etc., to the proper personnel to maintain inventory standards and improve quality and productivity standards.
• Ensure merchandise is placed in the correct slot location by properly scanning each pallet license.
• Alert Management of damaged racks, pallets, freight and/or spills.
• Follow set safety procedures and guidelines to maximize personal safety.
• Maintain an organized work area and promote a safe working environment within the Equipment Department.
• Follow all Company policies and procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

Experience: 1 year experience operating a forklift
Physical Requirements:Able to perform essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. The Team Member should have adequate fitness level to meet the demands of frequent lifting, walking, standing, moderate climbing, occasional sitting, stooping and kneeling with or without reasonable accommodation. Team Member will be required to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per Distribution Center requirements. Team Member must be able to operate all types of PIT equipment. Team Member may be required to operate equipment that takes them to heights of up to 50 feet in the air.
Working Conditions: Team Member will work in a climate-controlled Distribution Center, in which outside weather conditions greatly affect the building’s temperature although fans and heaters are used. Team Member may also be exposed to or work in a restricted space, fumes and airborne particles as regulated by OSHA.
Availability:Team Member will perform shift work and must be willing to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays.
