Job summary

Ro Health is seeking a Registered Dietitian to support nutritional care at a California State Prison in Stockton. The RD will assess needs, plan and implement medical nutrition therapies, and collaborate with healthcare teams to support inmates with chronic conditions.

Strong documentation and communication are essential, along with passing a thorough background check. The role is contract-based with competitive pay and opportunities for additional traveler pay.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Dietitian license in California.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Dietitian.
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to pass a strict background check.
• Strong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy, meal planning, and dietary modifications.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess the nutritional needs of incarcerated individuals based on medical conditions, dietary restrictions, and facility guidelines.
• Develop and implement individualized meal plans and therapeutic diets in compliance with CDCR regulations.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition interventions, making adjustments as needed.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to manage patients with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and obesity.
• Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients, staff, and facility administrators.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal dietary regulations, including food safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with CDCR policies.
• Participate in multidisciplinary healthcare meetings to enhance patient care outcomes.

Details

• Location: Stockton, CA
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts
• Higher Pay for Travelers: Additional compensation for those commuting 50+ miles from the facility
• Employment Type: Contract
