Job summary

ChampionX, now part of SLB, invites applications for an RD&E Group Leader in Sugar Land, Texas. You will align resources, prioritize projects, and serve as liaison with internal and external customers to define scopes and communicate progress.

You will lead Materials Compatibility and Waters, Deposits, and Hydrocarbons Analytical teams, ensure safety and quality, mentor staff, and collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Technology to scope and deliver technical solutions on time.

Qualifications

• Degree in analytical chemistry, materials science, polymer science or related discipline.
• Advanced degree levels: Bachelors with 7 years, Masters with 4 years, or PhD with 2 years.
• Minimum 5+ years in management, technology development, and innovation.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and technical expertise to Materials Compatibility and Waters/Deposits/Hydrocarbons Analytical teams.
• Oversee safety, quality, productivity, and talent development of teams.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Technology to scope projects and identify needs.
• Forecast demand and allocate resources to meet timelines.
• Hire and train new team members as needed.
