Job description

Position Overview

Leidos is seeking RCx Energy Advisors/Engineers to market and support a RCx energy‑efficiency program for industrial and commercial facilities near Detroit, Michigan. These positions offer a unique career opportunity for dynamic professionals with excellent technical, communication, and organizational skills. The role requires strong knowledge of retro‑commissioning of HVAC, lighting, and process systems, and the ability to build relationships with customers, vendors, and professional organizations.

Location: Michigan, supporting facilities throughout the Detroit Metropolitan region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify RCx efficiency opportunities, calculate energy savings, maintain customer relationships, and deliver presentations.
  • Conduct site surveys and facility assessments.
  • Collaborate onsite with facility managers, manufacturing engineers, and energy engineers to promote energy‑efficiency practices.
  • Perform HVAC system assessments to identify energy saving opportunities.
  • Analyze energy trends using bin weather data and regression analysis.
  • Review Building Automation Systems, assess opportunities, and verify results.
  • Evaluate energy‑consuming systems and consult on utility energy‑efficiency programs.
  • Prepare reports and deliver presentations.
  • Obtain a valid driver’s license and perform field verification of pre‑ and post‑installation measures.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
  • Experience: 2+ years (Junior), 4+ years (Mid), or 8+ years (Senior) in energy efficiency and/or energy management. Additional experience may compensate for education.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated productivity and accuracy in work performance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience performing ASHRAE Level I, II, or III energy audits for commercial and industrial facilities.
  • Knowledge of various Building Automation System types.
