Job summary

Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, OH, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to deliver high-quality care under the supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Manager. The role requires a graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program and active licensure with BLS and NRP as appropriate timelines.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years post-graduate experience, with preference for those with acute care and tertiary-level experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (CoARC or equivalent).
• BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• NRP required within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum three years post-graduate respiratory care experience; two years acute care; 1–2 years tertiary preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care to SOMC patients under supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Manager.
• Perform duties as assigned in accordance with hospital policy.

Department: Respiratory Therapy
Shift/schedule: Full Time (72 hrs/pay), Varied Shift

GENERAL SUMMARY

Works under the supervision of the Manager of Respiratory Therapy. The RCP II’s primary job function is to provide high quality respiratory care delivery to the SOMC patient population in accordance with hospital policy. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

• High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required
• Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy program accredited by CoARC or other deemed accrediting body.

Licensure:

• BLS required within 90 days of hire required.
• NRP required within 6 months of hire.

Experience:

• Work and/or educational experience that promoted group/team working relations is preferred.
• Minimum three years post graduate experience in the practice of respiratory care, two years specific to acute care delivery and one to two years of tertiary level respiratory care experience preferred.
