Job summary

Experity seeks a Payment Poster to ensure accurate payment posting, reconciliation, and documentation for healthcare clients. You will work onsite in Machesney Park and collaborate with teams across billing and client services.

The role requires at least an associates degree or equivalent, and one year of related experience. Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office is expected, along with familiarity with medical billing terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and review bank reports, lockbox files, client scans, payer documentation, EOBs, ERAs, and EFT information.
  • Prepare and submit payment documentation for processing within established daily deadlines.
  • Reconcile assigned client payment activity and ensure payments posted and documented correctly.
  • Research and resolve missing EOBs, EFT activity, unapplied payments and other payment exceptions.
  • Review payer websites for required EOBs and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain PowerFlow, BOX/IOS/PFE documentation and client files.
  • Support closing processes and respond to Salesforce tickets and emails.

  • Compensation: Budgeted between $19.10 and $21.50 dependent upon applicable experience.
  • Onsite: This position will be onsite Monday – Friday at our Machesney Park office.
Responsibilities

Obtain and review bank reports, lockbox files, client scans, credit card reports, payer documentation, EOBs, ERAs, and EFT information. Prepare and submit payment documentation for processing within established daily deadlines. Reconcile assigned client payment activity and ensure payments received, prepared, posted, and documented are accurately accounted for. Review payment posting activity and identify routine posting errors, discrepancies, missing payments, and exceptions. Research and resolve missing EOBs, payment-pending activity, EFT activity, unapplied payments, and other assigned payment exceptions. Review payer websites and obtain required EOBs and supporting payment documentation. Understand and interpret payer EOBs and basic payment posting activity. Maintain and process PowerFlow exceptions and utilize PowerFlow File Explorer as required. Maintain BOX/IOS/PFE documentation and supporting client files. Maintain Recon Cash Logs, applicable unapplied logs, client missing spreadsheets, and payment/EFT logs. Perform assigned payment posting activities, including insurance, patient, OccMed/EPS, collection agency, recoupment, and other payment types as trained and assigned. Research credit card payment activity and process applicable credit card reports. Support bad debt and collection agency activity as assigned. Complete month-end missing processes and assist with closing assigned clinics. Understand reconciliation control numbers, applicable reconciliation columns, and supporting reports. Respond to and close assigned Salesforce tickets. Respond to client and internal emails professionally and within established expectations. Create and maintain clinic guides, SOPs, and supporting documentation in SharePoint and Salesforce. Identify and communicate issues involving Omega and assist with routine resolution. Review, track, and discuss applicable key performance indicators. Manage and complete assigned productivity requirements within established deadlines. Maintain patient and client confidentiality and appropriately protect PHI. Contribute to team goals and complete other duties as assigned.

Business Impact

Supports timely and accurate revenue recognition by ensuring payment documentation is prepared, posted, reconciled, and accounted for throughout the payment lifecycle. Reduces payment-processing delays and financial discrepancies by identifying and resolving missing information, posting errors, EOB/EFT exceptions, unapplied activity, and reconciliation variances. Protects client and patient trust while supporting accurate month-end close through dependable client ownership, documentation, and appropriate handling of PHI.

Education

Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

One year related experience as a payment poster and/or accounting experience. Proficiency with Windows-based applications and Microsoft Office software products.

Preferred

Knowledge and solid understanding of medical billing terminology and insurance laws/guidelines.

Travel

Limited to no travel.
