Horizon Hobby is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design RF systems and develop PCBs for hobby-grade RC products. The role involves hands-on development, firmware support, and collaboration with cross-functional teams at our Champaign location.

Responsibilities include RF design, PCB layout, embedded software, testing, and ensuring regulatory compliance. A bachelor’s degree in EE and experience with RF hardware, Altium, and Python/C++ are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Fundamental RF principles and transmission-line behavior.
• Experience with CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Direct experience with Altium for board design.
• Familiarity with at least one programming language (Python, C/C++, MATLAB).
• Experience with RF test equipment and measurement techniques.

Responsibilities

• RF system development for RC products including transmission links and receivers.
• CAD modeling and PCB layout of compact electronics for RC models.
• Embedded and support software contributions for firmware and testing.
• Testing and validation using RF measurements and bench testing.
• Cross-team collaboration with mechanical, product and quality teams.
