POSITION SUMMARY

The Paint Cut Welder will perform detailed layouts based on drawing specifications. They will drill out holes in the body of the apparatus to make way for a variety of different equipment to be installed. Also, they will weld brackets and other metal pieces onto the cab to hold items to be installed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Performs detailed layouts based on drawing specifications.
• Drills out holes in the body of the apparatus to make way for a variety of different equipment to be installed.
• Welds brackets and other metal pieces onto the cab to hold items to be installed.
• Performs an inspection of the cab before any work is done to the cab to make sure that it is correct.
• Drill and weld according to the blueprint and specifications book.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.

Qualifications

Knowledge

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Previous welding experience required.
• Previous MIG and TIG welding experience preferred.
• Welding certificate preferred.
• Strong mechanical and technical ability required.

Skills

Language

• Able to read and work from blueprints/spec books.
• Able to read and understand a tape measure accurately.
• Able to follow written and verbal directions.

Math

• Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Computer

• Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information/changes related to the build process and/or troubleshoot.

Abilities

• Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.
• Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.
• Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
• Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.

Other Qualifications

• Driving- license: May be required to operate company vehicles to move parts needed from building to building for production purposes.
• Driving- Own Vehicle: May be required to drive between buildings.
• Hours of work- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends occasionally: Overtime as needed to meet the needs of the department.
