Summary of Busser Position

The Busser supports wait staff and bartenders to ensure smooth and efficient service. While not the front line of service, strong attention to detail and attentiveness are essential to delight our guests.

Licensing Requirements

• Valid Food Handlers Certification

Duties & Responsibilities

• Obtain service area assignment at the beginning of each shift
• Clear tables after guests and take soiled tableware to the dish room, unloading, sorting and stacking silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in designated areas
• Between seatings, promptly clean tabletops, chairs and booths
• Respond promptly and appropriately to guest requests, communicating them to the server as needed
• Assist server as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods
• Maintain a clean and organized service area
• Thank guests as they are leaving
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or director

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Basic knowledge of restaurant service procedures and table setup
• Understanding of cleanliness and sanitation standards
• Strong customer service and hospitality skills
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment
• Team‑oriented with a willingness to assist coworkers as needed
• Ability to clear, clean, and reset tables efficiently
• Ability to carry trays, dishes, and supplies safely

• Restaurant experience in a hospitality environment preferred, but not required

Work Environment / Physical Demands

• Expected to keep the work location safe and healthy, using basic safety measures
• Wash and sanitize hands after removing trash, eating and drinking, using the bathroom, touching own face or hair, or handling food preparation
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
• Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. or more
• Exposure to varying temperatures, hot (kitchen) and cold (walk‑ins)
