Job summary

Owens Corning is seeking a Raw Material Operations & Shift Leader to oversee receiving, unloading, storage, and inventory control for raw materials. You’ll manage shift priorities, coordinate coverage, and provide hands-on coaching to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

This role requires experience in warehouse or supply chain environments, proficiency with SAP and MS Office, and a high school diploma (associate degree preferred).

Qualifications

• Understanding of inventory controls, receiving processes, and basic SOX requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems; SAP proficiency is highly desirable.
• Ability to lead work, coach peers, reinforce standards, and make shift-level decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead raw material receiving, unloading, storage, inventory control, and related shift activities.
• Assign daily shift responsibilities, coordinate coverage, communicate priorities, and verify completion.
• Provide real-time coaching and escalate training or performance concerns to Plant Controller.
• Serve as primary raw material contact during the shift; report material availability and risks.
• Maintain accurate inventories with cycle counts and SAP transactions.
• Coordinate railcar placement, unloading, documentation, release, and communication with unloaders.
• Monitor inbound deliveries and ensure materials are received in SAP.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and escalate as needed.
• Lead shift handoff with inventory status, deliveries, equipment concerns, and risks.
• Support training and cross-training on standard work and SAP transactions.
