Job summary

A growing pharmaceutical CDMO is seeking a Raw Materials Chemist for a long-term contract in Durham, North Carolina. This role involves performing GMP testing of raw materials and training QC analysts while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and strong testing and documentation skills. Qualifications

  • Strong experience in a GMP Quality Control laboratory with emphasis on raw materials testing.
  • Proven experience authoring and reviewing GMP documentation, including deviations and protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation and method troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation and method troubleshooting.
  • Prior experience leading laboratory initiatives, training analysts, or serving in a senior/lead QC role.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with internal stakeholders and external clients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform GMP testing of raw materials to support manufacturing release timelines.
  • Author and review lab investigations and deviations related to raw materials.
  • Train and mentor QC analysts on raw materials testing methods and GMP expectations.
  • Lead the implementation of the Raw Materials laboratory, including instrument installation, qualification, validation, and analyst training
  • Train and mentor QC analysts on raw materials testing methods, documentation practices, and GMP expectations
  • Schedule and manage raw materials testing workload to meet manufacturing and release schedules
  • Review QC raw material data for accuracy, compliance, and adherence to specifications and regulatory requirements

Job description

Accentuate Staffing is partnering with a growing pharmaceutical CDMO who is hiring for a Raw Materials Chemist. This is a long term 6 to 12 month contract opportunity offering competitive compensation while working onsite in a GMP-regulated laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will have strong raw materials testing expertise, GMP documentation skills, and the ability to perform lab investigations and deviations.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform GMP testing of raw materials, packaging components, and other incoming samples to support manufacturing release timelines
  2. Author and review laboratory investigations, analytical test methods, deviations, protocols, and SOPs related to raw materials and instrumentation
  3. Provide technical support for method and instrument troubleshooting and serve as a subject matter expert within the raw materials laboratory
  4. Lead the implementation of the Raw Materials laboratory, including instrument installation, qualification, validation, and analyst training
  5. Train and mentor QC analysts on raw materials testing methods, documentation practices, and GMP expectations
  6. Schedule and manage raw materials testing workload to meet manufacturing and release schedules
  7. Review QC raw material data for accuracy, compliance, and adherence to specifications and regulatory requirements
Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline
