Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a seasoned Valuation Controller in the VCG Rates team based in New York.

This role focuses on independent price verification and fair value adjustments for North America Rates across commodities, partnering with Front Office, Finance, Risk, and Technology to strengthen valuation controls. You will review complex transactions, drive methodological improvements, and support regulatory exams while ensuring accurate fair value determination and operational efficiency

Qualifications

7+ years of related experience in valuation/control or similar roles.
Understanding of valuation concepts for financial products and derivatives.
Ability to analyze transaction and process flows.
Strong accounting knowledge related to valuations.
Proven analytical and quantitative aptitude.
Strong verbal and written communications skills.

Responsibilities

Own valuation control framework for Rates, including independent price verification and fair value adjustments.
Review complex Rate transactions and challenge trading to ensure proper controls.
Identify valuation risks and drive methodology enhancements.
Partner with Quantitative Research and Model Review on model limitations and compensating controls.
Maintain relationships with Front Office and Finance, Technology, and Risk for month-end insights.
Participate in regulatory exams and group projects across Finance and QR.
