Overview

Job Description

• Prioritize patient rounding and assessments with bedside nursing collaboration.
• Utilize MEWS scores, prior medical history and admission location information, and other indicators to assess high‑risk patients.
• Evaluate patient care and hospital practices in MUSC inpatient settings to ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and evidence‑based practices.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure staff, patient and visitor public health safety.
• Respond to any Code Blue and Rapid Response notifications, BAT Alerts, and nurse‑driven requests for clinical evaluation.
• Assess high‑risk patients each shift based on clinical indicators, previous critical care admissions/transfers, and PMH.
• Coach and provide education to staff regarding appropriate MEWS scores and assessments of Code Blue and Rapid Response notifications.
