Job summary

University of Kentucky is seeking a Rapid Response Nurse for UKHC to cover an 8PM–8:30AM shift. The role requires ADN, RN licensure, and advanced certifications (ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIH stroke scale, and TNCC) with completion of Nursing Professional Advancement within a year.

Expect duties in rapid assessment and crisis management within the Command Center, with weekend/holiday coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• ADN required.
• 4 yrs of related nursing experience.
• RN license with required certifications at hire: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIH stroke scale, and Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum within one year of hire; Nursing Professional Advancement within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate, rapid care in emergencies including declines in patient condition.
• Act as a resource to other nurses in clinical/critical decision making.
• Assist in meeting goals of command center.

Physical Requirements The essential functions for this position include the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds occasionally and 25-50 pounds frequently; as well as stand, walk and sit for long periods of time. The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases, hazards of radiation, and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.

Shift Must be able to work at least three 12-hour shifts every week from 8PM-830AM.

Will also be required to work some weekends and holidays as needed to cover Enterprise.
