Job summary

AdventHealth in Kissimmee, Florida is seeking a skilled ICU/CCU registered nurse for full-time night shifts. You will provide high-level patient care, respond to emergencies, and coach bedside staff while documenting care in the EPIC EMR.

A Florida RN license, 3+ years in critical care, and BLS/CPR are required. Experience with EPIC EMR and strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license in Florida.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in critical care.
  • CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Experience with EPIC EMR and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate courteously with patients and families in person or by phone.
  • Respond to clinical deterioration or emergencies and provide education on early signs.
  • Support bedside nurses during rapid response events.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in the EMR.
  • Collaborate to manage patient flow and timely placement per hospital policy.
  • Participate in peer interviewing and review processes.
  • Ensure safety, cost effectiveness, and quality of practice in nursing care.
  • Collect data for process improvement and quality initiatives.

Job Description:

Communicates courteously with internal and external customers in person or on the telephone. Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments. Respond immediately to clinical deterioration or emergency calls. Provide real-time education on early warning signs, interventions, and documentation. Support and coach bedside nurses during and after rapid response events. Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes. Collaborates and demonstrates teamwork in managing patient flow, promoting timely patient placement by following hospital policy for admission, discharge, and transfer. Participates in peer interviewing and peer review processes. Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services. Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health and unit-specific data for process improvement initiatives. Incorporates Caring Model behaviors and culturally competent care into daily practice. Conducts initial patient assessments within expected timeframes, initiates consults as indicated, and identifies patient/family teaching and discharge planning needs. Maintains safe practice by demonstrating unit-specific clinical competency and compliance with all regulatory standards. Perform focused and comprehensive assessments of patients experiencing acute changes. Adheres to organizational standards for dress and professional appearance. Other duties as assigned.
