Qualifications

• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Emergency, tactical or public complaint handling using basic computer and typing skills.
• Interviews and observation techniques.
• Understanding of family dynamics and functioning.
• Research and use of internet to gather information.
• Assess service needs and facilitate appropriate service delivery.
• Write professional, accurate investigative reports.
• Conduct fact-finding interviews.
• Understand and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Collect and synthesize evidentiary materials.
• Plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
• Active listening, clear communication, and maintaining collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Investigate abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation of vulnerable adults and mitigate risk.
• Prioritize vulnerable adult safety and meet within 24 hours of report receipt.
• Coordinate emergency services, medical evaluations, temporary placement, and court intervention when needed.
• Gather information via interviews, observations, and records; coordinate with state agencies, law enforcement and prosecutors.
• Connect adults with services and wrap-around supports to improve quality of life.

Education

Bachelor's degree

Associate degree or 60+ credit hours

High school diploma or GED + 4 years law enforcement or military
