Job summary

JAX Mercantile Co. in Lafayette, CO is seeking a Part-Time Sales Associate for our Farm & Ranch location. You will greet customers, answer questions, suggest products, and support department operations with a friendly, knowledgeable approach.

Responsibilities include stocking, merchandising, processing payments, and maintaining inventory accuracy while assisting in loss prevention and teamwork. Prior customer service experience is preferred.

At JAX Mercantile Co., we are passionate about serving our customers. Join our local, family and employee-owned company as a Sales Associate in our JAX Farm & Ranch location in Lafayette, CO. Make someone's day by sharing your enthusiasm and excitement about livestock, horses and all different kinds of pet friends cherished by our customers at JAX!

Our Sales Associates are responsible for greeting customers, providing honest and informative answers to questions, making suggestions about products that customers might want, and performing necessary tasks for efficient department operation. All JAX employees are expected to provide excellent customer service, engaging with people and sharing excitement about our store. Responsibilities include stocking shelves, assisting the Department Manager, and providing customer feedback to Department Managers and the Buyers' Team so our stores remain stocked with only the best products our customers have come to expect from JAX. Additional tasks may include:

• Accurately processing payments
• Helping with visual merchandising
• Maintaining a clean and well-stocked area
• Complete record-keeping tasks and contributing to reports
• Learning about products to provide better answers to customer questions
• Assisting in loss prevention efforts
• Communicating professionally
• Presenting a professional appearance and demeanor
• Taking steps to advance teamwork and develop solid working relationships with co-workers
• Assisting in inventory responsibilities

Our ideal candidate has prior customer service experience, and is willing to pitch-in where needed. Additional knowledge, skills or abilities include:

• Previous knowledge or experience with brands carried by JAX preferred
• Knowledge or experience with raising livestock or caring for animals preferred
• Ability to regularly lift and stock up to 50 lb bags of feed required
• Cashiering experience desired
• Computer proficiency required

Schedule Requirements:

• Must be available at least one weekend day
• Mornings and mid-day availability desirable
• Flexible shifts available

Pay Range:

$15.16 to $16.25 hourly
