Job summary

H2ajobs is seeking a farm laborer in Nebraska to care for livestock, feed and water animals, and assist with health checks and vaccinations.

The role includes moving animals between grazing fields, hauling feed, and maintaining housing and equipment on the farm. Housing and meals are provided, and travel reimbursement is offered under H2A rules.

Job description

Job duties include but are not limited to:

Caretaking of livestock - feeding and watering of animals

Examining animals to detect diseases and injuries and assist with administering of medication, vaccination or insecticides.

Monitor corn stalk fields for grazing purposes and determine whether animals should move to new grazing fields.

Assist in moving animals to grazing fields.

Hauling feed from trailers to animals

Maintaining winter animal housing areas; using diggers, shovels and other equipment needed

Hauling of manure and cleaning of pens

Ongoing maintenance includes cleaning, maintaining and repair of equipment, various workshop tasks as well as maintenance and upkeep of farm buildings.

Use of various farm and cattle specific farming equipment like tractors, feed wagon, payloader and skid loader.

Livestock: sheep and cattle

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Housing provided to the workers have fully equipped kitchen(s) where they can prepare and cook their own meals three times a day. The kitchens are fully functional and equipped with appliances such as stove, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher - all in working condition. The kitchen is equipped with the necessary utensils for prepping and cooking food. Adequate sinks with the warm and cold water under pressure. The employer will ensure that workers have access to a grocery store at least once a week to purchase their own food/produce. Workers have access to vehicles to drive themselves to the grocery stores from the house to the stores and back.

Transport: The Employer will, as per H2A regulations, reimburse the worker for travel cost, including daily subsistence rates stipulated at the time, from the worker's place of residence to the workplace, and upon contract completion, from the workplace back to the worker's place of residence at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charge for the distance involved, for example return bus and or airfare.
