Job summary

Foster Farms is seeking a capable Ranch Supervisor to oversee all fryer operations on our California ranch. You will direct the grow-out process, ensure proper temperatures and ventilation, and manage feed, mortality, and energy use to meet quality standards.

The role requires strong supervisory and leadership skills, plus comfort with overtime, weekends, and responding to alarms. Lifting up to 50 lbs and basic English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the Chicken Grow Out Training Program.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must possess supervisory and leadership skills.
• Must have good mathematical and organizational skills.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills (Basic English).
• Must be able to move and lift 50 pounds.
• Preferably, will have a mechanical aptitude.
• Must be willing and able to respond to alarms and adverse conditions affecting the chickens.
• Must be able to work as scheduled, including overtime, evenings, holidays and weekends.
• Must follow and enforce company standards, guidelines and policies on anyone working on his/her ranch complex.
• Must have the ability to work at other ranches/complexes as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all ranch activities and functions of assigned fryers and fryer ranch.
• Direct grow out of fryers through setup, brooding, temperatures, ventilation, mortality, vaccinations, medications.
• Maintain ranch facilities and coordinate with maintenance for materials and service calls.
• Enforce strict sanitation procedures and report health issues to Manager or Field Supervisor.
• Respond to emergencies that could affect the chickens, day or night.
• Help manage ranch production costs including labor, fuel, supplies, and maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of feed, mortality, fuel, production, and energy use.
• Provide training and delegation of duties to ranch personnel; enforce safety and animal welfare guidelines.
• Coordinate with feed mill dispatchers, drivers, and field supervision several times weekly.
